Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. You can contact Living Well Physiotherapy directly to arrange an appointment.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your physiotherapist will discuss your medical history, current symptoms, goals, and concerns before completing a detailed assessment. Together, you will develop an individualised treatment plan.

Where will my appointment take place?

Appointments are usually carried out in the comfort of your own home, allowing assessment and treatment to take place in a familiar environment.

How long is an appointment?

Initial assessments typically last around 60-90 minutes. Follow-up appointments are usually 50–60 minutes, depending on your needs.

Do you provide personalised treatment plans?

Yes. No two people are the same, and neither are their physiotherapy needs. Following a thorough assessment, treatment is tailored to your individual circumstances, symptoms and goals. Whether you're looking to improve mobility, manage symptoms, increase confidence or maintain independence, we will work together to develop a plan that is right for you.

I'm not sure whether physiotherapy can help me. What should I do?

Please get in touch for an informal discussion. I’d be happy to talk through your situation and advise whether physiotherapy may be beneficial.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on your condition, symptoms, and goals. Recommendations will be discussed with you following your assessment.

I’ve been discharged from hospital, but I still don’t feel back to normal. Can physiotherapy help?

Yes. Many people continue to recover for weeks or months after leaving hospital. Physiotherapy can help improve strength, mobility, confidence and independence, supporting your recovery at a pace that’s right for you.
